Regional Sangha Leaders Support Groups Program
Latest News
Led by BIN Board Member Susan Weir, the Great Lakes Sangha Leader Support Group will be reconvening this fall after a summer break.
This was the pilot program for the Regional Sangha Leaders Support Groups Program, and it is already proven to be a great success, benefiting all involved.
Two teachers have stepped forward to develop an Upper Midwest Sangha Support Group for Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
To support authorized Regional Sangha Support Groups, BIN now provides a Zoom meeting space for online gatherings.
Upcoming
By the end of 2025, BIN plans to be ready to help Insight teachers or Sangha leaders who want to establish similar groups within their regions. Susan is developing a handbook to streamline the process.
BIN will be mapping out regional areas to prevent omissions and overlaps.

Benefits of this program
The value of gathering on Zoom and, on occasion, in person with other Insight teachers and Sangha leaders within your area provides the opportunity to, for example:
-
Address challenges specific to your region
-
Meet in person for valuable in-depth exchanges, instruction, and community building
-
Address succession issues, teacher training, attracting students, etc.
-
Band together for economic benefits, like shared services
-
Develop programs and teaching tools
-
Share creative teaching ideas
-
Collaborate on projects
-
Increase your ability to invite a teacher from another part of the country or world to visit and teach at each of the sanghas in the area and host Buddhist teacher/authors on book tours
BIN freely offers this support and looks forward to supporting the development of these regional leaders support groups.
If all this sounds intriguing, contact Susan Weir. We will be ready to form new groups at the end of the year, and look forward to working with you!
