Regional Sangha Leaders Support Groups Program

Sangha leaders, imagine the benefits of having a small group of peers in your area to discuss topics of mutual concern, share solutions to the challenges that arise in meditation communities, recommend guest teachers and retreat centers, and much more.

BIN has successfully piloted a regional support group in the Great Lakes area, and now teachers have stepped forward to develop an Upper Midwest Sangha Support Group for Minnesota, Wisconsin, and parts of Iowa.

Gathering on Zoom and, on occasion, in person with other Insight teachers and Sangha leaders within your area provides the opportunity to, for example:

  • Address challenges specific to your region

  • Meet in person for in-depth exchanges, instruction, and community building

  • Share solutions for succession issues, teacher training, attracting new students, etc.

  • Band together for economic benefits, like shared services

  • Develop programs and teaching tools

  • Share creative teaching ideas

  • Collaborate on projects

  • Increase the power to attract distant teachers by organizing a teaching circuit in your area, and host Buddhist teacher/authors on book tours

BIN’s Regional Support Group Coordinator, Susan Weir, has mapped out regional areas to prevent omissions and overlaps. She has also created a step-by-step handbook and is available to support you in forming your regional group.

Authorized Regional Sangha Support Groups can schedule their Zoom gatherings on BIN’s Zoom meeting space.

If all this sounds intriguing, please fill out this response form, and Susan will contact you to set up a meeting to talk more.
